I was lucky to have Uncle David as my godfather, along with his lovely wife Joyce as my godmother. I remember staying with them when we were little, hearing stories and being given thoughtful gifts. Most of all I remember the happiness and laughter. Even a few years ago when I last saw Uncle David, he was still chuckling away, and I will always remember his cheeky laugh.

I met David through his lovely daughter, and he and his lovely wife, Joyce, became my daughter's Godparents. I love the picture Kiara has chosen for the memorial as it shows his cheeky laugh. Such an interesting gentleman - one in a million.

I was so lucky to have known David. He was one in a million and he will be much missed. He was such a strong and positive influence in my life; as a child growing up he was a role model for following your dreams, living life to the full, daring to go on adventures, being brave enough to imagine a different life and mad enough to actually dare to live it.
